Architects Walter Bunsmann and Paul Gerhard Scharf shaped the building with its hexagonal basic structure. The building is located directly next to the church of St Ansgar, also known as the "Little Michel".
Location and Transport
The Michaelis Hof is located 300 metres from St Michaelis Church, Hamburg. It is just 5 minutes' walk from Roedingsmarkt and 1.5 km from Dammtor. The Hotel is 150 metres from Stadthausbruecke. The S1 underground and connecting public transport are directly outside the Michaelis Hof, ensuring fast connections to destinations across the city, including Hamburg Fuhlsbüttel Airport. Guests going into the Budapester Strasse which changes into the Ludwig-Erhard-Strasse. Once past the underground flyover, the Hotel building can be seen to your left hand side. To get here by public transportation, take the S1 or S3 line to the Stadthausbrücke stop and exit at Michaelisstraße. For drivers coming from the north: the Hotel is on the left-hand side. For drivers coming from the south: take the Horster Dreieck in the direction of Hamburg Centrum (A1). at the Hamburg - Süd junction take the A 255 in the direction of the city center on Willy-Brandt-Strasse (B4), after passing under the subway bridge you will find Michaelis Hof (in the Katholische Akademie) on the right-hand side.
