Romantik Hotel Spielweg provides cozy single and double rooms, spacious family apartments, and Spielweg suites. Accommodations include a renovated Black Forest farmhouse in a rustic style and a romantic Garden House. Each room is uniquely furnished in a modern country-house style, with a focus on detail. Some rooms feature balconies and views. Haus am Bach is next to the mountain stream 'Neumagen'. Franze, an old farmhouse, can accommodate up to 6 people and features a green tiled fireplace.
Dining at Spielweg
The Hotel's restaurant serves creative local cuisine combined with Asian flavors, designed for the current season. The kitchen, run by Viki Fuchs and Johannes Schneider, uses products from the Southern Black Forest nature park. Specialties include cheese from the Hotel's cheese factory and house-made sausages. The sun deck offers views of local mountain Branden. Black Forest cake, coffee, braised 'Ochsenbäckle', and pinot noir are available. A continuous snack menu and homemade cakes are also available. On Mondays and Tuesdays, a limited menu is served.
Leisure and Wellness
Guests can relax in a steam bath at 45 °C, in a Finnish sauna at 80 °C, and in a conservatory relaxation room. The Hotel features indoor and outdoor pools. There is direct access to the mountain stream 'Neumagen'. Guests can enjoy grapeseed oil massages. The play garden includes a play house, a swing with a jungle gym, a ping-pong table, and a rabbit hutch.
Location and Activities
Spielweg is a starting point for trips. The Hotel is near the Westweg hiking trail, from the Feldberg to Belchen. Guests can experience cycling on diverse trails. In winter, the surrounding slopes of Branden entice ski tourers. The Hotel is near the St Trudpert monastery church and the Spielweg beekeeping museum. Strasbourg and Colmar are within driving distance.
Hotel Services
The Fuchs family has managed the Hotel for many generations. Dogs are allowed in Stammhaus, Haus am Bach, and some rooms in Sonnhalde for a daily fee of EUR 10. WiFi is free. Guests receive a Black Forest Guest Card for free bus and train travel. A bioenergetic head massage and follow-up facial cleansing with grapeseed exfoliation is available. Guests can deposit valuables at reception.
