Hotel Schmid & Alfa offers 28 rooms and several holiday flats. The rooms are in the historic Hotel Schmid or Hotel Alfa. Standard rooms feature a flatscreen TV with 150 channels, and a bathroom with a toilet, shower, or bathtub. Some rooms have a seating area and balcony. Superior rooms are in the historic part of Hotel Schmid and include a balcony, small seating area, and views of Lake Lucerne and the Urner Alps. Apartments are in the renovated part of the building, partially with a south-facing balcony. Each apartment has 3.5 rooms, including a living room with lake view, a bathroom with a toilet and bathtub, and parquet floors. One bedroom has a boxspring bed, and the other has two separate beds. One self-catering apartment is on the first floor in the annex and features a balcony and kitchenware. Connecting rooms are available.

Hotel Schmid & Alfa provides an abundant breakfast buffet, including prosecco. The Schmidstubli restaurant offers traditional Swiss cuisine. The new restaurant, Haddock, focuses on contemporary cuisine with regional products and a fish menu. Guests can enjoy meals and drinks on the terrace. The hotels are near Tony's Pizza, The Coffee Bean, and Urban Outfitters.

Hotel Schmid & Alfa is on the edge of Lake Lucerne in Brunnen, 2.5 km from the Swiss Path, 0.5 km from the Bundeskapelle Brunnen, and 2 km from Lake Lucerne. It is 80 km from Zurich-Kloten Airport. Trains run regularly every hour or every 30 minutes from Zurich, Lucerne, Arth Goldau, and Chiasso to Brunnen. The hotels can be reached by boat from Lucerne or Flüelen.
